Jonathan Glassner said that the stunt crew was surprised by how Jessica fared on her first day of training. It was her first US major role as she was previously in Australian films. Jessica is able to fully portray her powerful female character thanks to her love of action, her mixed martial arts skills as well as her horse riding, weapon and firearms abilities, and her athletic ability. Jessica is a boxer who has been trained, muay Thai and a mixed martial artist. Jake Stormoen was on his Season 4 set when he came across a wandering dog.
